March 2014: All three of us are busy with regular life, thus we are only reading/reviewing books we already have or that we acquire through our own efforts.
We primarily read young adult, science fiction, fantasy, urban fantasy, speculative fiction, and literary fiction.
We occasionally read children's and middle grade fiction, paranormal or contemporary romance short stories, memoirs, horror, poetry collections and historical nonfiction.
We never read religious fiction/nonfiction, self-help books, inspirational books, or westerns.
We don't often review self-published works unless we seek out specific titles or authors. And just a caveat: we almost always comment on editing problems if they exist in a work. If you give it to us we will hold it to the same standards as any other edited and traditionally published work. If you'd like to submit a self-published book please send a one-paragraph blurb of your book and the first 20-25 pages of your book in the body of the email. We will read every one that comes in and we will get back to you if it sounds like it might be a good fit for our blog.
We enjoy reviewing backlist books as well as upcoming and new releases.
We prefer traditional paper copies of ARCs, but we also own and use Kindles and a Nook and would be happy to read e-galleys. We also have accounts on NetGalley and Edelweiss.
Our TBR piles are always rather high so if we accept an ARC, we will attempt to review it in an expeditious manner but we cannot promise it will happen within a certain time period. We also cannot guarantee completion of titles that we do not enjoy reading.
We are always honest in our reviews, whether or not we enjoyed a book. We often will not write complete reviews for books if we do not enjoy them but we have done it in the past and we will probably do it many times in the future. We sometimes draw pictures, insert photographs, make graphs, write poems, or do other random things in our reviews.
We often pass ARCs we receive to other bloggers and reviewing friends after we read them so if you'd like us to do so with your work, please let us know and we can organize a tour. (likewise if you'd prefer us to refrain from doing so) If there is a specific time period you'd like us to hold our review for, please indicate it in some way so we can abide by your wishes.
We do not receive payment for any reviews or endorsements. If a reviewed book has not yet reached its release date, the presumption should be that we received it from the publisher or author.
