Cuddlebuggery End of the Year Giveaway Hop: Win One of Our Favorite Reads of 2012!

12/29/2012

UPDATE: Our winner is Karina from Nocturnal Book Reviews! She told us to surprise her with a copy of Tigana, Deathless, or A Face Like Glass, so we've done just that. Get ready for a mystery book, Karina. Congratulations!

Happy almost 2013! To celebrate the past year, we've joined a giveaway hop organized by one of our favorite blogs, Cuddlebuggery! Trying to decide what to give away was quite a feat for us, considering that we each read between 105-120 books. Instead of writing a long post about all our favorites, we each picked four of the books we loved most and one winner will be free to pick any one of them. If you feel like finding out more about our favorite things from 2012, you should go read the post we did for The Book Smugglers, for their Smugglivus feature.  Our giveaway will be open internationally, to anywhere The Book Depository or Fishpond ships (two Aussie books would have to come from the latter). Consider each of these books an absolute recommendation from at least one of us. We hope each and every one of you has had a wonderful year and that your 2013 will have great things in store for you.

Win one of the following books we read and loved in 2012...

Definitely Deathless by Catherine M Valente, it's been on my wishlist since I read a review a few weeks back. Or maybe The Brides of Rollock Island, not sure what it is about, but I like the cover & title, and it's good to read "surprise" books from time to time.
On the favourite 2012 books department, I'm thinkink John Marsden's Tomorrow series (which I'm currently reading and it's blowing me away), Rachel Vincent Shifter's series, Untold by Sarah Rees Brennan... Wow, it is difficult to choose! I could keep going for ever, it seems.
Happy New Year!

Some great picks ladies, I had a tough time too just narrowing all the books I read this year to a few, Shadows by Paula Weston and Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn, definitely would have made it to my list. If I could pick one book to win from your list it would be The Brides of Rollrock Island. Thanks for the giveaway! :)

I've read so many great books this year it’s difficult to choose just one or to even narrow it down to just a few. Not to mention that I'm a bit behind, so some of my favs I read this year were published prior to 2012.
The Taker (book1) and The Reckoning (book 2)by Alma Katsu
Theft of Sword/Rise of Empire/Heir of Novron (Riyria Revelations) by Michael J Sullivan
The Black Prism and The Blinding Knife by Brent Weeks
Tart by Lauren Dane
When The Duchess Said Yes by Isabella Bradford
There are so many others...I could go on for a while. I just started
Falling Kingdoms by Morgan Rhodes and already I'm loving it.

After reading the review, I think I would pick "Deathless". It sounds amazing. As for my favorite book of last year, I read a lot of good books in 2012 so it’s hard to pick just one, but I think the one that stands out the most is,” The Crimson League (The Herezoth Trilogy)”, by Victoria Grefer . I wasn’t expecting it to be nearly as good as it was but when I read it, I was so surprised as it turned out to be completely brilliant as she brought an entire world to life. I loved it.

I think I would choose Deathless. Have heard great things. My favourite read of the year was The mirror by marlys millhiser. I haven't read any of the 2012 releases on my TBR list.

I'd love to win Tigana!

I have a lot of favorites, most of them are fantasies though, such as Howl's Moving Castle-Diana Wynne Jones, Throne of Glass-Sarah J Maas, A Face Like Glass-Frances Hardinge, Airborne-Kenneth Oppel, Deathless-CM Valente, etc. (yes, I discovered some of my favorite books through your blog! Thanks!)

I recently read The Killing Moon by NK Jemisin, which I'm sure you'll like (if you haven't read it)l because, oh my god, it is awesome! One of the best fantasy books out there, really. You should check it out.

By the way, thank you for the giveaway!

Almost every book on this list is on my TBR! Is it weird that I am oddly excited that it is 2013 and therefore I have a whole YEAR to read SO MANY BOOKS?!? As if the end of 2012 looming meant I "had" to push some to the side. Weird mentality...but YAAYY 2013!
